For Hondas, there are a few Honda dealers in the U.S. that sell genuine Honda extended warranties over the internet for significantly less $$ than the typical local dealer charges. Does such a situation exist for Camry Hybrids? If so, who are the dealers?

Keep in mind that the link was related to a 2007 Camry "non-hybrid". I don't know if this makes any difference in the price.

 

Thx. I plan to call some of the dealers listed in your link tomorrow and find out the price on the hybrid.

 

McGeorge Toyota in Virginia was on the Edmunds list as charging $520. They e-mailed me with a figure of $595 + tax. I don't know if the price has simply gone up or if the TCH costs more. I've tried several times to get a quote from Mechanicsville Toyota (also on the Edmunds list). I have e-mailed and called and left a message. I've not heard back.

The $595 figure was the 7 year/75000 mile Toyota Platinum warranty.

 

Did you happen to inquire about the 100k warranties?

 

You should be able to get the 100,000 7 yr platinum warranty, zero deductible for a little over $800. I ordered mine today for $820, no tax from one of the sites listed on Edmunds. As soon as I get the paperwork and verify that all is legit, I will post more information.

My credit card has been charged and I got a receipt in the mail for the Service Agreement application from the dealership. 7 years, zero deductible, 100,000 miles platinum coverage. All for $820.
The saleman gave me an 800 Toyota number where he told me i could verify that my coverage was officially entered in the system.

I called today and unfortunately they have no record of my car. I called the selling dealership and the finance person who sold me the agreement is no longer with them. I have left a message with the other finance person to see what is going on.
I will provide an update when this is settled one way or the other.

The people at the toyota finance center did say that my car should have been entered into the system the next day after I signed the agreement.
