Lightbulb New on HCV

Hi I recently buy a HCH 2003, the car works perfect with 40MPG~. This is my first hybrid car so I want to know If they need some kind of special service (different from petrol only cars, as oil change and filters)

Update your profile to specify location.

Service as usual except if it's a CVT, replace fluid with Honda genuine CVT fluid every other oil change (about 12-15K miles).

Begin budgeting $2000 for a replacement IMA battery ASAP, and/or research alternatives to replacement such as grid charging/discharging. My sig has a few good links.

Thank you, for my good luck the car is Manual so I dont have to care about cvt problems.

The IMA light is yellow, but the car is chargin and discharging fine, do you suggest to change the battery?

Also I have a code about the oxygen sensors and the catalyst converterter, is it a good Idea to remove It? I live in Mexico so envyroment law doesnt require that

Performance is deteriorated and will continue to get worse. you may notice the battery meter drops very rapidly. Then the car will force charge itself and provide no assist. This is a negative recalibration and is a sign of a failing pack.

Per my previous message, grid charging and discharging your pack may restore some function.

P0420 is the upper cat. There was an issue with HCH1 cats. Many false codes were corrected with a patch from the dealer. You may want to investigate that.

P02A0 is the upstream O2 sensor. Worth replacing.
