slow charge, quick discharge
Hi
I have just got my car back from the garage after somebody kindly hit and ran. they had the car for 3 weeks, now I have an issue with the fact that the car charges quickly to 50% and then seems to take ages to reach full charge, it then discharges very quickly on accelaration. Would this be because they disconnected the 12v battery? or does it look like my battery is on its way out?
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks

Re: slow charge, quick discharge
Hi, I just recently bought a used 2003 HCH-I manual transmission, didn't get an owners manual with it, so I am a bit in the dark about the nuances of driving it. If I sit it still and rev it up to 3500 RPM, it will send a charge to the IMA batteries? Not that I am having an issue, but it is good to know the tricks available for the car. For at least the next couple of days I will be living on top of a hill (in hilly Pittsburgh), so the IMA batteries do get run down going home, depending particularly where they were when I set out for home. So I am interested in being able to charge the batteries if I need to (even at the expense of fuel economy).
Cheers,
Ed
