12v Battery Failure

Re: 12v Battery Failure
Since replacement our 12 volt does not have the indicator window ;(
The dealership did it and swear it is the correct replacement. I believe they are right: it does have the proper number, but looks completely different, apart from dimensions.
That was one thing that tipped me to buy the charger that would give some feedback regarding state-of-charge, and a half decent digital multimeter.

Re: 12v Battery Failure
All-in-all this radio code concept should be drop-kicked off the end of the driveway, imho.
It is possible to swap out battery without losing power, for radio, etc. I found hooking up a small trickle charger, to the positive battery cable and a ground, does the trick. Still, it's not a bad idea to "reboot" every once in a while, and you really should get that code.
Maybe Honda should just engrave it on the front of the radio

Re: 12v Battery Failure
Yeah, I tried the US site, but does not work for Canadians.
There is some procedure, I believe for use with the US site, you need to find your radio's serial no. There is a button press combo that will show that. Then with that number on the web site, coupled with some registered owner info, you can get your code.
But as I said at outset, this doesn't appear to work for Canadians. Hopefully you dig up the card, sticker, or your dealership has retained the code somewhere in their records.
I think in the overwhelming majority of cases, this code just screws owners.

Hey guys,
Not sure if this will work for the Canadian owners(probably not, because it involves a zip code entry), but I just got this link from a Honda e-mail today.
If you lost your radio code,
https://radio-navicode.honda.com/

Re: 12v Battery Failure
hi Guys,
I've had my 12V battery for about ~5yrs now and it seems like everyone here has tried reviving it via battery charger. Well, I've tried that few times overnight and the cold start issues still persists. I've tried local stores for a replacement battery (i.e. Auto ZOne, Napa, OReilley) but it seems they don't carry our type of battery. Trying to avoid the dealer, but are there any aftermarket options out there?
Thanks,
Anthony
