2006 vs 2007 vs 2008?
Hey guys, I crashed my 2006 HCH. I hit a Chevy Avalanche doing about 40, he pulled out in front of me from his driveway without any time for me to react. I'm assuming my baby (133,000 miles) is totaled :-( but I am waiting for the insurance company assessor to decide.
Anyway, I will probably end up getting a new HCH and was wondering if anyone knew if there were any significant differences between a 06,07 and 08. If not I will just go for the best deal I can find, but if there is I might consider differently. I know that their are at least a few little differences, but don't know if their are any medium differences (if I recall correctly there are no large differences.)
Thanks! any help is appreciated!
PS, all of the safety features of the Civic work wonderfully, but man do those airbags pack a punch.

The impact was was pretty hard considering it was like hitting a brick wall, but the airbags worked really well. My passenger didn't get hurt at all, but I broke a couple ribs, even though I sit pretty much as far back from the steering wheel as possible (I am 6'1") it hit me right in the sternum, I feel like the seat belts worked really well, and I don't have anything soar for that.
TPMS would be really nice, but I don't think I'll get enough replacement value to get an 09.
Thanks for your input!

And the 2009s have $2,000 additional discount in dealer cash plus other hidden funds. Lease and purchase rates are very low, also. I got my '09 this weekend with leather and NAV for just over $22K including destination charges, but tax and registration were extra. You can't beat today's prices on new cars!

I feel for you, my 2007 HCHII was totaled last March when someone ran a red light and I T-boned him. My fiance and I were uninjured from the wreck, but it still sucks to get in a wreck from someone else's carelessness. I lost about $5000 from the wreck even though my insurance covered it and I was not at fault. If I were to be in the same situation again, I would get a lawyer to help me make sure I am made whole.
The $5000 figure comes from the fact that I bought a 2008 HCHII as a replacement, Honda increased the price over the 2007, and I had to start a new loan whereas I had been paying on the loan for the 2007 for over a year at that point.
One of the reasons I bought another HCHII was because of the car's safety. I didn't have any injuries from the wreck, as did my fiance who was riding with me at the time. In another car it could have been much worse. Honda did a superb job with this car's safety, I can't thank their engineers enough.
