2009 HONDA IMA battery vs 2007 HONDA IMA battery Honda civics changes made?
Is there a difference in design versus the 2007 vs 2009 Honda battery. Just asking because I recently lost mine to accident and was wondering is the battery pack worth keeping with only 71k miles on it. Can a 2009 honda hybrid IMA battery fit a 2007 Honda hybrid civc?

They physically fit; however, there may be program changes required for maximum longevity.
Note that the 09-11 HCH2 pack is the worst hybrid battery ever made with a 30% failure rate after 3-4 years - that's why honda extended the warranty on the 09-11 to 10yr/150K in all states - so they'd avoid getting sued over yet another hybrid model.

No. I did not say they are identical. I said they physically fit. Big difference.
When you break them down, they are substantially different with few common or directly compatible components.
They may require programming, but upon further reflection, there may not be any programming possible due to restrictions between years. An 09 pack is not supposed to go in an 06-08, but it can fit. There may not be a programming option to get an 06-08 to properly use an 09-11 battery. It's almost a certainty that the battery can be installed and will function correctly; however, it's longevity would be in question.
