Do It YS Window Tinting
Has anyone found a good window tinting product you can do yourself? I had a quote for $340 to do 4"s of the windshield, all 4 side windows, and the rear. These are different %s for front side and rear side. I haven't looked on line yet cause I felt sure that someone here had tried it. Any experiences good or bad would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Thanks,

That's high. I paid $200 for 30% on side windows and 15% on rear. front strip would be $25-35 more.
I'd find another trusty shop. Doing it yourself is not for amateurs, so I've heard.

I would not do it to save $100.
If you do, be certain that you ARE getting tint to do the little side windows in front of the main side-front windows, and the little ones behind the main side-rear windows.

I had it done professionally. It was $200 complete, with a 35 on the side windows and a 20 on the rear. It took them about 2 hrs and looks very nice. No way would I try that myself. 100% guarantee for the life of the car too. 3M tint. Too bad it didn't help much in my mileage issue, but the car does cool off much quicker and feels much more comfortable than before the tint. Mileage in this 100F degree heat has been terrible.

That quote sounds like a ripoff. We had both our HCH's tinted (4 side windows, rear window, and strip at top of windshield) at 2 different locations for ~$150 each. And both jobs were very professional.
I tried tinting my previous car myself. On a 1-10 scale, I'd rate my effort about a 6. And I didn't try to tint the rear window -- way too difficult for an amateur to do a curved window correctly.
