Default HCHII 105,000 Mile maintenance?

My HCHII just turned 90,000 miles and when i brought it to the dealer all they said i needed to do was their minor service ( oil and filter change) and said it was a minor service ($139). So I asked them when was the major maintenance, they told me 105,000 is when the water pump, timing belt(i thought we had a chain), S-belts, tensioners, tranny oil, coolant, and others were going to be changed totaling to about $1200.

Is this about right?

I have been changing my oil and filter with mobil1 0-20w(8,000 miles), CVT (24,000 miles), and air filters (eng and cabin @ 20,000miles). My Dunlops were changed at 45k to Michelin Hydroedges(good tires, bad mpg dump).

How is your HCHII (100,000+ mile) holding up and what did you do at the 105,000 maintenance mark?

It does have a timing chain! Valve adjustment and spark plugs must be getting close? H

I assume so. i figure i can do the spark plugs myself, however i am not sure about the water pump.

i thought the timing chain would last the life of the car.

I would not change the water pump.I have not heard of one leaking to date. Timing chain should last many years, but things can break! H

I'd let the Maintenance Minder tell me when to do what but I get the feeling you're talking about an ballpark estimate. The $1200 sounds like rip-off. I'd leave the water pump alone unless it malfunctions. Timing belt: hmm, I too though the HCHII had a chain, but I am not sure. S-belts: probably a good idea to replace but any solid mechanic could do that for you at a nominal cost. Transmission oil and coolant: I'd do this myself if I were you. Pretty easy--search for an instructive post on this forum. Ditto with the spark plugs. Valve Timing would be one I'd get help with.

Hmm, I've considered switching the Hydroedges I have on my other car into my HCHII but this comment makes me second guess this idea. How bad was the MPG hit?

Got ways to go. ~36k at this time Had the rear camber arm replaced around 16k (under warranty); *had* to get the SP31s if I wanted Honda to pay 50% of the tire cost (sigh). Car seems to be doing fine though the hybrid battery is definitely not as potent any longer especially when the weather is not nice and warm.

Did the transmission fluid replacement (not flush) around 24K. Have replace air filter twice so far; had brake fluid replaced some time last year (can't recall the date) for around $100 at the dealer.

Got the dreaded IMA software update at that time. So far, I seem to be doing ok.

Recently, after 4 1/2 years, I ended up replacing the 12 V battery (though a quick battery check claimed it was fine)--after noticing how my hybrid battery seemed to be spending a ton of time charging the 12V battery. The indicator had no blue surrounding the red dot. Got a Autozone brand (Duralast, IIRC) battery for around $150 (3 year replacement and 5 more years of pro-rated warranty).

there's a hchII for 7k in ontario and i'm wondering if it is a good sale considering the maintainence the car needs at 200,000 km (which the car is being sold at)

what's the quote for a new hchII battery?
