Hood lift-assist airsprings

Hood lift-assist airsprings
I was wondering if anybody has modded their hood to use air springs to hold it up. I am somewhat handicapped, my left arm is pretty much toast;
I can't raise my left arm above shoulder level. It's a royal pain in the arm to try to lift the hood high enough to support it with the prop. I wind up trying to raise it up by pushing with my head.
An air spring mod would be a true godsend for people with similar disabilities.

Re: Hood lift-assist airsprings
Honda uses them on other models (Accord, for instance), so the basic components are available from the manufacturer.
The difficult (relatively) part would be fabricating the attaching bracket at the base, at the windshield end of the hood bay, near the firewall, followed by mounting the said bracket.
You could possibly have someone cut these pieces from a totalled Accord, and have someone weld them in.
Anything is possible.

There's a perfect space for the bottom mounts on each side of the firewall right by the hood hinges. I'll have to do some looking at local junk yards, er "recycling centers"
