Default I'm trying ecopia ep100 205/55/16

I just bought a 2009 HCH11 and it came with toyo garit kx winter tires.I'm still very happy with the fuel economy but i'm looking forward to see what the improvement will be. I have 16" ex wheels with my toyo's and i'll be installing the new Bridgestone ecopia ep100.

What kind of realistic improvement should i be expecting?

Thanks

Are they a LRR design tire? Press them to max. cold setting and you should do fine. H

The bridgestone ecopia ep100 are LLR but my toyo's are not.

You will see a big improvement, but the tire size will effect your FE somewhat. Tread width will hurt a little. H

Note that he's running on heavy EX rims, as well. Overall he'll have a serious MPG ding simply due to clunky/chunky wheels, exclusive of any tire effects.

Do you really think that the extra weight, witch is equivalent of my two year old son will have that much of a negative effect on fuel millage?

The car came with both sets of wheels and the 15" oem wheels and tires were actually giving me 3 to 4 mpg of less. The tires were cheep no name tires and they were also inflated to 30 psi.

I think that the extra tire wight and wheel weight might be over evaluated. And not sure that the impact will be that big. I think that the ecopias will make up the difference from the oem. Anyway i'm hoping!!

Has anyone on this forum gone to the 16" wheels with good results?
Thanks

Stock rims, and 195/65/R15 and LRR pumped to max. or more cold setting will give you the best FE. You should do well with your 16" combination! Good luck with it and enjoy some good numbers! H
