Installed Used battery today
 

My 06 HCH was showing an intermitant IMA light. The OBD said the battery was bad (i forget the code)

Regional junkyard had one from an 07 with 37k miles for $600.

I took a chance. Short test drive looks good.

I changed ONLY the actual battery pack.

What I purchased included the whole box behind the rear seat with several boxes and a cooling fan. On the left side is the actual battery.

It is held in with four bolts, two heavy gauge wires and two plugs.

The whole thing took 20 minutes.

Not sure what I'll do with the old pack. I may try to assess the good cells and make a 14.4 deep cycle cell for my motorhome.

Or i may mothball it until the replacement battery shows signs of trouble and use the cells to rebuild.

I'd love to hear questions and comments, especially if i did something stupid.

I would hang onto it for future like you said. You may need a cell or two. H
