Yeah, but we're talking about public roads, not autocross or road racing.

I think you are missing my point and going for juggular. Riding at max pressure is just not ideal, show me where it trumps all other safety issues, which is the basis of my point.

I can't see how you could interpret anything I said as "going for the jugular."

If you have sincere interest in learning about this topic, you can search this site, cleanmpg.com, insightcentral.net. priuschat.com, etc., where you will find many similar discussions throughout the past 12 years or so.

I hope that helps. Now, back to the original poster's topic.

Any update on the performance of the Ecopia 442 from the original poster (or anyone else?

Just replaced Bridgestone Turanza Serenity with Ecopia 422. Am told this is "lower" performance tire, but research it and it seems fine. Couldn't beat the price.

Was not that impressed with the Turanza Serentity, both in terms of mileage and wear. Only got about 35K out them before I felt I needed to replace them. I'm okay with that, though, as I tend not to trust tires when the tread goes below 2/32" (even though 1/16" is the standard). Get a lot more flats as the tire wears down.
