New IMA battery and new software -- is this behavior normal?
I have a 2006 HCH II.
Roughly 92k miles on it. New IMA battery at 88k, with all the IMA software updates done a week before replacing the IMA battery. I also have a 12V battery that's 6 months old or less, but is not a Honda one (grabbed an Autocraft Gold 51R from Advance Auto Parts).
I'm wondering if this behavior is normal.
I have never seen SoC drop below four bars. However, I've seen many indications of a recal at four bars (no assist, more aggressive charging) after which the SoC will jump up to 8 bars. This tends to happen maybe twice a week. Also, it used to be fairly easy for me to get 44-47mpg even with the dud battery... Now I'm barely ekeing out 41-42. (Think 80-90% hwy driving)
What are people's experiences with a new battery AND the new '09 software update? Did the dealer forget to do a power module rest of some sort, or register the new hybrid battery in the computer? Or is this all normal?

Hi reedog117:
This is the way Honda is protecting or caring for the pack. It will still give you good performance. It manages the packs SOC and does not over work the pack. I get much better FE since these changes. As far as I am concerned it was a big improvement overall. You will be happy with the changes in the end. And your next pack will more than likely last much longer than the first. H
