Cash for clunkers now riding coat tails of climate bill

It will be interesting to see if being tied together will help or hurt the clunkers bill. Personally I'm of mixed feelings about its efficacy, but some action is arguably better than none I guess.

The government is out of money. In fact it's over $15,000,000,000,000 in debt. You personally owe (Me too) over $60,000 to the Federal government. Our kids too.
Noble cause or not, we can't afford it in a time we should be showing fiscal restraint.

just bought a Prius. Wondering who may know- if I get the plug in conversion done to the new car can I get the $8500 tax credit for 2009? Where could I find this info?

Before these next few years are over I'm worried that each of us will owe more like $100,000 in taxes to the government. That's kind of scary. Good time to be old.
