Default Does anyone use OBDII scanner on NAH?

Hi,

My 2007 NAH's "Service Engine Soon" came on couple days ago, I used my OBDII scanner to get the code, but the scanner display "error". I used this scanner many times before on others cars such as 1997 Honda CRV, 1996 Nissan 200SX, 2004 Acura MDX, and recently 2003 Nissan Altima non-hybrid.
I could easily get the codes for all cars listed above with no problem at all.
just wondering if hybrid car does not support OBDII scanner.

Any input?

I know if you have a "scan gauge", you need to change it to hybrid mode. note sure what else it could be though

I took the car to my mechanic friend, his scanner can read the code after he insert the California emission chip (looks like a daughter board). It was the front oxygen sensor. He clear the code for me, if it comes on again, I can order and replace the oxygen sensor myself.

Nissan uses the Consult III as its diagnostic and adjustment tool. Some other readers are available, but it doesnt use th OBD II like many other cars.

It has been more than a wk and 300 miles later, the "Engine Service soon" has not come back, I guess the O2 sensor still OK

i stand corrected though I guess i meant to say I was told Nissan uses the COnsult III to do adjustments; other options for reading stuff off teh ecm though do exist and yeah, sorry, via the OBDii port.
