Default Roll call... how many Altima hybrid owners are here?

We have one... now with a little more than 1,000 miles on it.

So far... we love it.

XJB, it looks like just the two of us make up the Nissan Altima Hybrid Owners Club.

Do you want to be club President?

What kind of mileage are you seeing so far? (And I know it is too early to really have a good idea.) Also, are you using Tier 1 gasoline?

And, did you get the anti-theft GPS put in? If so, do you have an odd electrical sound come from your dashboard occasionally?

OK you have 3 now.

Bought a silver one with Tech Package on the 7th of this Month.
First tank was 580 miles for 17 galllons or about 34 mpg.
Dash showed 35.5. However, I do not know if tank was full at
dealer and when I bought the car it had 12 miles on it with 16 mpg.
I did not reset.

Like the car overall but the interior fit and finish needs to be
improved. Traded in an Acura TSX where everything fit like
a glove and felt very tight. The only reason was mpg and the
20 gallon tank. The TSX got 22.

Few sqeaks and rattles here and there which I could smother with
some felt. All electronics work fine. The stereo tweeter not as good
as the Acura.

All the information in the dash that we have to toggle through
should be combined in a single screen in the Navi. The TSX had
this.

Also the low fuel warning is too conservative in the dash. In turned
on when there was 4 gallons left and the car then had a range of
140 miles.

Reset mpg meter after fillup and after todays 10 mile commute to
work, it reads 40.6 .

I drive about 700 miles per month if there are no long drives. Hope
to do 1 tank per month in day to day driving.

Could not have done that on a Camry Hybrid.

Hi IGH,

Welcome to the smallest club on the hybrid board.

What type gasoline are you using? We've been filling up with Chevron, but we are eyeballing for Shell stations so that we can try to be consistant and use Shell for our initial tank experiences.

Re the squeaks and rattles... I've noticed a few myself. I think a part of what that is is that it is so unnerving at first to ride in silence that every little squeak and noise becomes amplified.

I agree the empty warning comes on way too soon. I want empty when I'm down to a gallon... not when I have enough miles left to drive what a normal car gets on half a tank. Somebody at Nissan was NOT thinking on that one.

I got no options at all -- the bare-bones minimum you can get. The only rattle or squeak I've noticed so far is the far back left corner of the dash rattles with the radio sometimes (in time with the music, and stops if you turn it off).

So far I've only added gas once, Chevron but don't intend to stick to a single brand. I do intend to put decent gas in it, the nice thing about the 700-mile range is you can be a little more patient about where you buy gas, can fill up when you find a good price on a good brand.

I agree that the range calculation (and warning) are way conservative, I even though I'd hit an early shut-off and probably overfilled it, couldn't believe it was only taking 16.

BTW I'm pretty sure there are at least 2 other NAH owners here -- Lights and NAHfan

Sorry, Just got back from vacation. I also have not had it long enough to give accurate stats. I have a white loaded with tech. Got rid of a G35x and find this car quieter, smoother and it is great driving past the gas station. The "G" got around 17 mpg. I have one rattle in the sunroof, which I will be bringing back to the dealer tomorrow for adjustment, other then that, nothing to complain about. A question for those of you with nav, how come when you review recent incoming calls while driving it does not display the phone number until you stop?

Thanx
Larry

They probably don't want you dialling until you stop. Liability issue.

David,

I agree with the dialing, what I am talking about is the outgoing calls in the logs. it give you the time of call and date without a phone number. If the number was there, you can just hit the enter button to call.
