This is proof of the reliability of the 300v battery.

I just bought a 2009 Tahoe with 195,000 miles. One owner vehicle and I was told by the owner that the hybrid battery had never been changed. I have only had it about a week and so far it has only had one hiccup. I had a warning light (stabiltrack I think) come on while going down a wet exit ramp and maybe the wheels did slip a bit but the ICE would not restart for a few seconds at the bottom of the ramp. Might be normal operation? I cannot remember the exact flashing warning but it seems like it was the vehicle with wavy lines through it?
No codes of any kind that I can pull with my INNOVA code reader and the vehicle drives very well except for that one hiccup. I know that the hybrid battery most likely is reaching "end of life" I am searching the forum trying to figure out how to actually do an easy battery test but it sounds like it is not a simple procedure even for a dealership with the proper test equipment. I do not mind purchasing a new battery when the time comes since a I got a GREAT deal (Original window sticker 54k sells fro 6k used LOL) but I would like to know approx how much time I have so I can start saving some dimes. Might have to cut back on beer and cigs for a few weeks to foot the bill Haha.......

Hi there, and welcome. First off, I am glad you got a fantastic deal!

So, about those codes that grace the title of this topic. When those codes are displayed, it's almost a sure tale sign you need to replace the hybrid battery.

Your vehicle will show signs before getting to that point, though. Most notably, it will shudder when you accelerate from a stop. You'll notice your average MPG dropping to below 17 or 18 mpg. It won't code, but it's time to replace that battery before finding yourself with a stalled SUV in the middle of a busy intersection.

One thing you can do right now to preserve what you can from your battery is to ensure the vents to it are clean and free from obstruction. Nothing hurts a battery more than heat.

When it's time to replace, new from dealer is best. Don't try to replace bad cells. If the ever-increasing cost of the progressively rare replacement battery is too much to bear, consider a refurbished battery for around $2400. I used Greenbeanbattery.com which now offers a five year non prorated warranty. I got mine before the new policy. Such is life. In 1 year my MPG has gone down around 0.2 mpg. But I reallyrthink that's how my wife drivers it. Greenbean isis geographically limited, though. There may be others similar where you live.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply TikTok. As I drive the vehicle more I am even more happy with it. The technology is super cool. (at least to me). My biggest problem is that the previous owner had given the Tahoe to his 17 year old son to drive to school (had it about 9 months). The 17 yr old kid decided that the truck was not COOL looking enough so he saved up his Walmart dollars and bought some 20 x10 Mayhems + LT215/55R20 NITTO EXO Grappler AWT's PLUS a 3.5" body lift. Big ole knobby high rolling resistance tires will never let me get good gas mileage!. It does look real COOL though so I will probably just leave it "As Is" and drive it. I bought it as a daily driver after my brand new Denali Ultimate PU (64K) was rock chipped by the landscaping crew at work. This ole Tahoe Hybrid makes a great weedeater target
My reason for all the questions was that I wanted to try to get an approximation of how long I ACTUALLY have on this battery. I do not have any hesitation/shudder/jerk and no codes stored at this time so I have my fingers crossed that it might be good for a long while?. On the little display screen it shows the battery charging during braking and then kicking in so it is for sure working right now just probably not nearly as well as a new battery would. However I could never justify paying thousands of dollars for a new battery on a 6k vehicle, that is just nuts. After looking around the internet this puppy will probably be parted out if the battery dies, looks like I can easily double my 6k especially with the brand new wheels and Nitto Grapplers. I will be keep looking around the site, this is a great resource. I am very glad to have found it. I am going to try to attach a pic. If it works check out those wheels and Nitto's the kid had good taste in wheels and tires, it just should not have been done on a Hybrid LOL

Looks even better in person...........
