Default Finally Pulled The Trigger...

... and purchased a pre-owned '09 Silverado 4X4 Hybrid. After considering buying one for the past 8 months or so, and nearly buying one four months ago, I now have one sitting in the driveway... black with black leather. Formerly a truck owned by GM. My only complaint is that it has all of the interior upgrades... leather, navigation, etc... but no heated seats... I don't understand why that doesn't come with the leather. Seems pretty silly. Otherwise, I think it's pretty awesome. I'm sure I'll be surfing the GM section here more frequently... and rereading the ideas for increasing my fuel economy even more. Feel free to throw out suggestions for a new Silverado Hybrid owner.

I added aftermarket heated seats to the second row. My kids are very happy on cold weather!!! It costme under $500 installed.

Congrats!
Feels good going a week without filling the tank. You will quickly forget the purchase price when you aren't getting beat-up at the pump every few days.
Strange about the seats, since the 'hoe comes with them and I thought they had the same, lightweight, seats.

I try to reply your message wih no success. I used an aftermarket place referred by my neighbor, he works at a dealer. Also GM has this:

The one I have looks like this:

Good luck!

So far the truck is great.... had it about two weeks now. I didn't realize one of the power locks didn't work when I purchased it, so it's going to need a trip to the dealer. Prior to my last vehicle, a Mercury Mariner Hybrid, I had an '03 Chevy Avalanche Z71, with a 5.3 liter. Mileage was below 15mpg, including factoring in a heavy right foot. I learned all the hybrid driving tricks from driving my Mariner for a few years. It's pretty sweet to be getting 20+ mpg from a 6.0 liter. I drove to work for two weeks without filling the tank, a 38 mile round trip. Even two trips from Chicago to Detroit and back, driving the 75-80mph range, I was still above 19mpg. I'm deciding which non-warranty voiding mods to make to increase mpg further.

keep it stock. you don't want any mods to break the deal in terms of warranty. after reading the TSB's from GM, it actually says to check for modifications.

At the end of the day with modifications lets look at it with common sense as I am sure GM will, if you modify the air intake system for example and the air getting into the engine is cleaner and you have an engine failure I am sure GM will still cover the engine while under warranty by there warranty at least in Canada this would be the case.
