hybrid battery for 2008 GMC Yukon Hybrid 6.0

My hybrid battery on my 08 Yukon went bad and I am having a difficult time finding one for under $2500 (aka:anywhere but the dealership). Does anyone have suggestions as to where I can locate on from a reputable company?

The only place you're going to get a new battery is the dealership. Your only other options are salvage yards and reconditioned batteries. At best, you can expect reconditioned batteries to be a 3-4 year solution. Salvage yard batteries are a complete unknown.

If you're saying you can get a new battery from the dealer for $2500 - That's a fantastic deal. If you want to fix the problem and likely not deal with it again for 100K+ miles, then there is no alternative.

I was considering going here for my replacement. They come out to your home and do a 5 year pro-rated warranty. Anyone used them here? $2349

IMHO, throwing your money away. They're only a little cheaper than new. A new battery should last comparable to the original regardless of warranty.

Yea I'm skeptical of how long it'll last. Thanks. So the dealers have brand new batteries from GM? They aren't rebuilt either? I figured they were all remanufactured at this point. The dealer says 12 months 12,000 miles.

New "GM" batteries are manufactured by Primearth (80% Toyota, 20% Panasonic).

12mo/12000 miles warranty is typical of all parts. Toyota didn't change their battery warranty until 2016. They wend from 12/12K to 36 mo/unlimited.

Thanks!! I'm definitely going to go with the dealer. I will probably order the battery from GM parts to save a little the dealer install. I found several dealers selling them cheaper than my local dealer.

You will likely find that they will not ship them as they are not equipped to do so, and what you are seeing is just their standard treatment of parts. I have never found a non-local dealer that would ship a pack for Hondas or Toyotas - and they are much more "hybrid friendly" than GM.

Even if they do, the two-way shipping fees for something of that size are likely to exceed $300-400 not to mention the hassle factor.

Good luck,

Steve

Well after calling around, the Gm batteries are on the national control list and no one but local dealers can get them and they are $3220.50 plus labor.
