Default New Owner with an 08

Well I just bought a 2008 Tahoe Hybrid. It's a distance away so it will probably take a few days to get it but I'm really excited. This is replacing a 2009 Honda Accord v6. Ironically we may be getting a bit of a upgrade in city mileage which is what we do mostly.

Our dog has become just too large for the accord thus the move. It joins a 800hp 04 GTO and a 525hp 05 c6. I tune a lot of GM cars but unfortunately it looks like HPT hasn't cracked the computers for these yet otherwise I'd start messing around in there to see if I could squeak out a few more mpg based on my driving.

Planning on some kind of CAI setup (probably build something) and getting rid of the resonator.

Here's a pic sitting at the dealership. Has 23k miles on it and bumper to bumper till March.

Hah, oh ya. Forgot to mention that *small* mod. Already got the heat gun all ready to go. They are attrocious.

Now someone tell me how much power this transmission can handle so I can put turbos on it...lol.

lol no need for turbos ... getting rid of those stickers alone adds about 80hp.

Welcome Shizon,

I worked with HPT trying to hack one of this babies. no luck yet. Wont give up.

The Trans is pretty much an Allison with manners. So must be above 800 Ft/tq

You'll have a nice time tuning on regular gas the 10.8 CR Vortec 6000 6.0L V8 (LFA). It uses 706 heads, so is not that good in the CFM department.
The Cam is also design to mate with the Electric motors on low torque situations. So is probably will bleed some boost.

The engine is all aluminium making it a nice project for a 408ci stoker super light for your car

Let me know how it goes with HPT.

The trans is an A1000 look-alike. Problem is I just don't know how strong the clutchpacks are. I'm not so worried about everything else. I have a friend that works over at Allison that is digging a little deeper for me.

I'm not worried about the tuning. I've tuned just about every swap/fuel combo there is in the lsx world. I can't imagine the cam has too much overlap but if you have the cam specs at .005, let me know.

The block should be good for any power I plan on making here. I already have an iron 408 in one and an ls2 in the other so no need for any crazy swaps. I'm not a fan of this block going over about 800rwhp for a car that doesn't get torn down every year.

I also worked with them on it. They sent me some beta software but couldn't get into in.
They asked if I could send in my PCM, but can't be down that long. One day I may give it another shot.
