I tow a 5,000 lb boat often with my 13 Yukon Denali Hybrid. No isses with heat at all, and generally get 12-14 mpg while towing, and 19.6 to 22 mpg when not towing in the summer.

BTW You are only supposed to use Full Synthetic oil. Mobile 1 Full Synthetic 5w-30 from factory. Using non-synthetic oil is asking for trouble, specifically with the VVT.
