How to find E30?
Hi,
I'm planning a long trip that includes I-71 from Louisville to Cincinnati and I-75 to Windsor Canada. This will take about three tanks and I'll leave Huntsville with straight gas, Shell 87. I would like to try a full tank of E30. How do I find a station that can pump E30 along this route? I will be using an NHW11 Prius and my understanding is E30 works in my vehicle. Certainly, I'm willing to do the experiment and document the results. Thanks, Bob Wilson |

Go to E85prices.com to find "gas" stations that sell ethanol. Listings exist for almost every state if I am not mistaken.
Attachment 3303 This is a photo of an unmodified 2003 Prius running full E85 in the state of Minnesota at Mankota State University. After 60,000 miles the chief Toyota mechanic looked at this vehicle and was stunned to find how "clean" it looked. Re: How to find E30?
Well, Cenex at Wahpeton, ND has E20 and E30. OTOH, it might be easier to just mix your own. One part of E70 (winter blend of E85 up north) with 2 parts of E10 will get you close. You can also use a calculator to figure out your ratio.
You could just post your request at E85Vehicles and see if someone in your area has it already blended. Many of those people also post the prices at E85Prices.com. |
Re: How to find E30?
E30 fuel is becoming more and more popular and prevalent in many mid-west states. I see more and more pumps going up... usually, in some very small towns ( pop. fewer than 10,000 ).
States that sell E30 at retail include KS, NE, MN, SD, IL, IN, IA, MO. And that's just the ones I've seen personally. Lastest discovery was this one in Oakley, KS right off I70. https://www.greenhybrid.com/share/fi...5/105_1105.JPG |

Blender pumps have existed for quite some time as shown in the last photo. It is the UL that is dragging its tale in permitting more "modern" blender pumps.

Ya'll pretty lucky; CA has too few stations, but the most cars... A real stranglehold these oilers have on us...
