solar sterling engine for the home ?

Re: solar sterling engine for the home ?
I've seen articles proposing such systems in the past but I'm pretty sure it is only a 'do it yourself' project. One challenge is the ideal working gas is high pressure helium, which is difficult to seal. Still, if you could get say a small V-8 and some high-temperature, electrically operated valves, it might be a fun project. You could use a 4-cylinder with a custom crank with all four throws at 90 degrees. Alternatively, four lawn mower engines chained together with 90 degree crank angles would work.
