Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
The next-genereation Real Hybrid Mileage Database has been released! Visit it now in the Compare section.
I have a few more features and instructions in store for 2.1, but everything's functional and active! Enjoy. |
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
Jason,
I don't understand the new criteria for Hypermiler. Would you give an explanation on the city/highway information? Billy |
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
Yeah. I need to come up with a better way to word that. The member must have 3,000 miles logged. The member must also beat EPA. But since EPA provides a city number and a highway number, and members input what % they drive highway on the "edit car" page, the database is able to weight the city/highway figures proportionately. If no highway % is specified, the EPA's 45/55% is used.

Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
We lost several of the 400h's in the transition. Mine was only re-actvated by re-entering a bunch of the car description data. And....it won't accept the model year 2006!
|
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
I still have all the old data, so I can fix it if need be. I wonder why the RX's were lost. There's only one version, so I didn't deactivate them if they didn't define wheel-drive or transmission. I'll look into it.
What do you mean it won't accept 2006? |
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
I see the 2006 problem. No idea why it's happening, by the way. I can't locate it in the code. Looking into it. Until I figure it out, I've temporarily disabled the year check. It'll work now.

Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
I fixed the RX's. There are now 9 active. Good?
|
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
Let me make sure I understand the City/Highway.
Since on most of my tanks I have said highway is 33% of the ride time that would mean 66% is city. My avg should be 47.19. Correct? Using 45/55 then my average should be 47.45. Billy |
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
Jason,
I think I found a little problem with the Civic CVT and MT. At the top of "their" page in the database you have the EPA estimates reversed. The MT shows 47/48 while the CVT has 46/51. Billy |
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
First off, city/highway percentages are no longer dealt with at the tank level. Instead, there is a single field on the car level. You'll need to edit your car and redefine it. Whatever highway percentages you used for tanks in the past is still stored internally, but for Version 2 they serve no purpose.
I'll double-check the Civic figures. |
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
You're right about the EPA figures. Fixed. Thanks.
The validation problem will be fixed shortly. |
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
The validation has been fixed. Are we bug-free yet? :)
|
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
The part I was looking at seems to be fixed.
Thanks for all the hard work. Billy |
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
Hi,
The RX's look good now. I think 9 was the correct number of cars... |
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
So.. is there no way to display the old graphs that showed average FE for each month of the year?
|
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
Maybe there should be a "Fill Date" field for each tank that defaults to the share date, that way you can track year/month/day so that graphs can be made to show whatever segment of time you want.
|
Re: Mileage Database 2.0 Launched
The problem with how it was before was twofold. First off, it wasn't reliable. Second off, it required a lot of information from anyone who wanted to keep track of their tanks. I've eliminated the reliablity issue by taking out unreliable functions. I've also helped to encourage members to continue participating by shortening the update process. Unfortunately, there's got to be a compromise here.
