Default Storing a FFH for several months due to recall

I haven't seen any discussion of this here, but my son's 2010 FFH is affected by the Takata airbag recall, and we have been advised not to drive it (our Ford dealer has loaned us a Lincoln MKZ) until it's repaired. The dealer says it could be another 3-6 months until replacement parts are available for this vehicle. I've been starting the car and driving it around the block once a week to make sure the traction battery maintains a charge (it doesn't drop much from week to week), but I'm wondering if maybe I should be doing more.

Any suggestions?

Don't bother driving. Just let it "idle" for 15-30 minutes once every two weeks. Disconnect 12V battery between "runs"

I tried just idling it today, and the engine shut off almost immediately.

Yep. Run the heater or A/C to force the gas engine to run.
