Thumbs up My next car - Lexus HS 250h hybrid 4 door sedan

I currently have a 2007 Camry Hybrid. But this will be my next car:

It will slot in on size and price between the Lexus IS & ES models.

It is Lexus version of the Prius. Thats why they slot it inbetween the IS and ES with the ES being the Camry twin. I would guess the ES will have a hybrid version with the next gen Camry.

The 2010 Prius uses 1.8L engine.
The HS250h uses same 2.4L engine as Camry Hybrid.

Yes the HS uses the Camry 2.4, but the body is based on the new Prius platform that is why the HS is between the IS and ES in physical size. It follows the Toyota/Lexus model of putting in a larger engine in to the Lexus line than in the Toyota line. If that holds true for the ES, will we see the ES with the V6 and HSD III?

Well, my initial impression is....I like it. Can't wait to see it in person. By the time I am in the market for a new car (2 to 3 years) I hope they've worked any bugs out of it cause I'd really consider one.

Good to see it's not based on the current IS if you're even thinking about using the rear seat. WHAT A JOKE!

Some pics of this new model coming this fall:

I like the looks of this new Lexus hybrid much better than the new 2010 Toyota Prius, the new 2010 Honda Insight, & the new 2010 Ford Fusion Hybrid.

It's clear that the Corolla design team worked on this Lexus' exterior. At last, a hybrid for the over-70 set... right down to the retro pop-up NAV screen. At least the Prius interior looks like a step forward, not backward!
