Nissan Leaf - Are they out yet?

Has anybody purchased a Leaf yet?

If so are you using it mainly for commuting.

If you plan on buying one, how will you use it and what's your average commute distance?

Re: Nissan Leaf - Are they out yet?

As of today, there have been 6 Leafs delivered to actual paying customers.

About another 50 buyers have received notice from Nissan that their Leafs have been delivered to Long Beach and are undergoing final prep before being transported to the dealers who sold them. Buyers are expecting these cars between the 5th and the 10th of January.

The first 6 have been delivered to areas with supporting charging infrastructure.

Per http://green.autoblog.com/2011/02/01...t-nissan-leaf/, for the US,

Both the Chevrolet Volt and the Nissan Leaf had their first deliveries in December, which means that January 2011 was the first full month of sales for each. The numbers are:
  • Volt: 321 (plus 326 in December, for a total of 647)
  • Leaf: 87 (plus 19 in December, 106 total)

DaveinOlyWA on Priuschat (who I've met before) recently got one. He posts sometimes about it at http://priuschat.com/forums/nissan-hybrids-evs/ and http://priuschat.com/forums/ev-elect...le-discussion/.

Now http://green.autoblog.com/2011/02/02...cle-household/ is impressive!
