Default AIG bonuses

Who likes their tax dollars given to criminals? Not me.

Aren't bonuses supposed to be earned? In my company, and all other companies I have worked for that is the case. So why does a company that lost $62 Billion last quarter give bonuses to the people that caused the greatest loss in AIG's history? It makes no sense to me. I hope that our government explores every legal option to deny the bonus payments to these crooks.

The fact that AIG would even consider bonuses at this time is simply wrong.

It may be capitalism as far as AIG is concerned, but in the real world a bonus should be earned. If I am wrong, please correct me.

What a bunch of 'tone deaf' jerks. Contracts? Contracts? What happened to the union contracts when GM shutdown a plant? IMHO, there should be rule that the division manager and previous division manager must leave the company anytime a plant is closed along with one engineering and marketing manager. After all, their decisions led directly to the failure. Probably need to remove at least one member of the board of directors too!

The more I learn about the timing of the bonus payments, the more the sense of outrage. Seriously, those folks probably need to retire, over seas. Yet I noticed one politician has taken responsibility ... what a refreshing change.

I just heard that Frannie and Freddie Mac will soon be paying out bonuses as well. Strange world we live in today, where a company will reward failure in such a lavish fashion...

Don't forget Geithner. Something wrong with the person who evaded taxes calling others "greedy". Timmy's days are numbered.

On second thought Geithner may be getting a bonus from Obama. The attention the paltry $165M has been getting by the news media and public has taken the focus off the $173BILLION!! in bailout money that AIG has paid out to partners.

I think it's amazing what people get riled up about.
Take these examples for instance:

*Obama made over 3 million dollars while "Serving the people" in the senate. We paid him a comparable salary to the other members. (Who really serves who?)

*1/4 of all your income gets sucked into a 9,000 page bloated tax code which nobody, not even the IRS understands. This is (Of course) for your own good.
Yes there are very good alternatives out there but Washington won't consider any real alternative for holding onto power for themselves and their lobbyists.

*Washington created a ~1.5 Trillion $ deficit up to 2008. Remember Congress holds (and spends) the purse and presidents sign the law. This year's budget is $3,500,000,000,000- Created by Congress and certainly signed by Obama.

*Total national debt at the end of 2008 was about $12,000,000,000,000. Add the Obama budget bloats it to $15,500,000,000,000.

*Congressional budget office projects an additional $7,000,000,000,000 in 10 years at the current spending levels. Many estimates are much higher.

*We could have a national debt of $20,000,000,000,000 in only 10 years.

*Add Nationalized health care, paid collge tuition, "Free" day care and all the other projects the Federal Government has planned- it's mind boggling.
This debt is also for your own good, and the good of your (Working) family.

*1 Trillion sounds like a huge but obscure number. How much exactly is it?
Place a dollar bill flat on your table. Now put another one on top of it.
Now continue until you place 1,000,000,000,000.
How high is your stack? Based on the Federal Printing & Engraving office the average thickness of a dollar is .04 inches.

1,000,000,000,000 bills stacked on each other reach over 600 miles!

There is no end to the drunken spending in Washington from any corner, from any party.

Yes there is plenty wrong with failed companies executives getting said bonuses.
But it's only an insignificant drop in the bucket.

It's just smoke my friends. Are you ready to pay $10 or more for a loaf of bread?
That too, will be someone else's fault.

Take this into account.
General population of the United States is about 304 Million.
20,000,000,000,000 / 304,000,000 = 65,789.5

So every child in about 10 years will be born with a projected debt of almost $66,000.

Add the exponenetially growing weight of Social Security and it's insolvency, National health care and all the other "Free" vote-buying schemes.

Forget the whole thing I just said.
Government doesn't spend money, it only "Invests" it. I'll give them a chance. They said it so I believe it. (Fecicious of course)

And, you're hot! Sadly, you're right on, too.
