Great idea! But that power has to come from somewhere. I wonder what the impact would be on the kinetic energy of the car traveling over the ramp. I'd imagine that those ramps might be speedbump-like, even though presumably the ramp depresses into the road to some degree when you drive over it. But then again, the ramps are designed to be used around stoplights, where speeds are likely to be decreased anyway.

Yeah if people are stoping then chances are they are bleeding off energy anyway. Even a near perfect coast in to a stop light will require some breaking unless you timed your loss of energy perfectly so your coast stoped exactly the stop light.
