Re: Welcome to the 300h forum
tomscot2, our 300h has been nearly flawless in every respect. It is a fabulous cross-country touring vehicle, making our many 1000+ mile trips most comfortable and relaxing, while providing confidence and responsiveness. However, we also got an all electric BMW i3 which as pretty much taken over as our vehicle of choice for city driving when only one car is needed. The i3 is far more fun to drive, much more quick and nimble, but would be far more exhausting on a 1000 mile trip! The ES hybrid is a fantastic all-around sedan, and top notch for longer trips. Go for it!

We bought a 2016 ES 300H the end of January and now have over 2,000 miles of city and highway driving. We love it! Thanks Alan, you're recommendation pushed us over the top on making the decision. BTW, we chose to spend the extra bucks to get the 2016 instead of a 2015 because it has the safety gadgets: blind spot monitoring, adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking and lane departure assist. All are important for us 70+ year old drivers.

Re: Welcome to the 300h forum
Steve,
My 2007, first week production TCH was virtually trouble free for the almost eight years and 90K miles I owned it. I replaced the 12V with an Optima, had a cracked windshield, and was on my second set of Michelins. Had a couple of early adjustments for the rear brakes and dash rattles. Nearly perfect.
So far, with one year on my 300h, not a single unscheduled item touched. I did have to fix one noise problem myself, however, that the dealer said they could not fix. Now when I tool around slowly in EV mode with my windows down, I don't hear that synthesized scratching sound. It is now as quiet as was my 2007 TCH.

I don't recall the model of the Optima, but it did not have a vent hole.
