Thanks, sometimes I wonder what my MPGs would be had I gone with FWD, or if in the long run, I'm really that much better off with AWD, but as I say, it's better to have it and not need it often than not have it and wish to God you did.

Some of the places I go are rather, well, treacherous. I have yet to have any wheelslip, and although I always leave lots of room for stopping, I haven't had a skid either. I was rather glad I had the AWD when I was going on a dirt road, through about 16 inches of virgin snow, and the AWD FEH treated it like a paved road.

Thanks to all for your input. I test drove the FWD FEH today. It was a dealer demo. At the end of the test drive I was able to keep it in EV until 30 +/- MPH. Next thread: options that make sense!
