Just to footnote... the Eagle GT's shipped on new vehicles, are not the same as the ones sold at Goodyear tire stores. The Eagles on new vehicles were "cost reduced" versions (2-ply vs 4-ply, etc).

I remember all the controversy back in the 80's when this news first leaked out.

 

Actually, the car tells you that the spare IS flat, even if it isn't. My flat tire indicator has stayed lit since my original tire went flat. Putting on the donut sized spare did nothing to make it turn off (and my donut is full).

Still waiting on my tire one week later....
