Brake Pad Life for FEH

Re: Brake Pad Life for FEH
Thank you simpleman and jwoth. Your information is really an eye openning.
The 2008 4WD model has disc brakes both front and rear ends. But it is a front drive, with most of the weight on the front end. I thought the front pads wear fast but it seems vice versa.
It seems to me that the dealer did not really measure my pad thickness. or treat it as a normal Escape instead of Hybrid. BTW, my dealer always maintain my FEH as a conventional one, they used engine oil of $2 per liter and call me every 3000km for oil change....

Re: Brake Pad Life for FEH
I have 125k km on my FEN AWD 2005 and still on original front and rear pads, recently inspected and they look like will be last for another 10000 km.
Dealership price for the front pads $159 Can and they don't recommended to buy any other then OEM, that I am doubt as I have seen some performance brake products like EBC for $105 and dimpled slotted disks for $157, any modifications experience will be appreciated.

Re: Brake Pad Life for FEH
I was doing an oil change and a tire rotation on my 2007 FEH (38,000 miles) today and noted that the brake fluid was getting a little low. I checked the brake pads when the wheels were off and was surprised at how worn the front inside pads were.
Is this a sign of stuck calipers?

Re: Brake Pad Life for FEH
I am on my original brake pads at 115,000 miles.
Fronts are 8mm and rear are 12mm or better.
Rears look brand new.
Driving habits have more to do with it in most cases than the mechanical aspects of the car.
Due to regenerative braking, the pads are meant to last 2x to 3x longer than a traditional car.
