Is it possible to obtain The new Michelin Latitudes at any Michelin dealer? Or, is this tire obtained thru Ford only?

I went straight to the Ford Parts Department Manager to make sure I got the same part number Michelin tires on the '09 FEHL. This was before my FEHL came in and he needed a VIN number to get a part number for the tires. The parts manager said he then needed my unit to be built before he could confirm which of the two part numbers for the Michelin Latitude was the right one. As soon as my unit was built he ordered 8 tires from Michelin for stock and me. I put 2 Michelin tires on the front of my '05 FEH and mounted one on a spare FEHL rim to replace my donut. The Michelin tire store I use said they could not order the tire they mounted on my spare rim. The answer to your question is no at that time the Michelin dealer could not order these tires. I'm not sure if or when Michelin dealers will be able to order or stock these tires in the future. Ford is now putting the same tire on all Escapes with 16" rims, not just the hybrids.

Gary:
What is the part number for the Latitude Tours from Ford?
I'd love to check it against both the Michelin site and the Tire Rack site before I go through Ford to buy mine.

Hi Mark

The part number from my Ford dealership on my invoice was 9004-24051 which listed for $176.95 and my net price I paid was $159.38 each.

Let us all know what you find out please. These are P235/70R16 Latitude Tour tires.

Mark, that is a good price @ $146.89 each shipped (Jupiter FL), did you verify the part#? No tax is also a great deal! I posted this about the weight combo's:

The stock FEH Rim is 2.2 pounds lighter than my new '09 FEHL Rim which is 20.4 pounds. The standard FEH Rim weighs 18.2 pounds. If you add the new Eco Plus at 31 pounds, the total weigh is 49.2 pounds. If you replace the Eco Plus tires with the new Michelins, the standard FEH Rim and Michelin tire would weigh 47.6 pounds each. WoW! This is what my new tires and Rims weigh on the front of my '05 FEH now.

The FEHL Rim and Michelin Latitude Tour tires weighed 49.8 pounds, which is .6 pounds more than the stock FEH rim and the Eco Plus. The folks that got the '09 FEH non Limited models have the 47.6 pound tire and Rim set-up.
