Heater not working

Hey all, new to the forum. :)

07 Escape Hybrid
Only had it a couple months now, and since it got cool this morning I flipped on the heater. Didn't get warm even after half hour of driving. Tried it this afternoon with the fan set on low and it actually got warm, but when I turned the fan to a higher setting it cooled off again. This isn't just in EV mode. Has anyone heard of a problem like this? Any suggestions?
Great forums, I've had fun looking through them!

Re: Heater not working

Could be a stuck thermostat. Does the top radiator hose get hot after driving awhile? Are the heater hoses going into the firewall hot? If not, thermostat may be stuck wide open.

If hoses are hot, it is probably the blend door in the heater that is stuck.

I noticed today that there is something leaking under the front of the Escape. :(

What color is the fluid?

Figured it out.
It was a leaky hose. If the coolant gets too low, the heat won't work.

I had a problem a couple months ago with the battery overheating and the "stop safely now" alarm. Ford told me my coolant was a little low and filled it up for me, but never checked to see if I had a leak. Morons.

Your heater core will have hot air instead of hot water inside which doesn't work well.
