HELP!! Air Conditioning issues 2008 ford escape.
I am having some problems with my A/C. It works fine while the engine is on (like it is supposed to) but I can not figure out how to make the engine stay on at a stop in traffic for the sole purpose of AC. right now it is 98 degrees outside and I am trying to figure out to not melt. No matter what setting I use like defrost, foot, face; or what temperature I set it to, I can not get the engine to stay on. any advice would help.

Re: HELP!! Air Conditioning issues 2008 ford escape.
I'm not sure about the 2008, but in my 2007, anything that is marked in orange on the A/C setting knob should keep the ICE (engine) running. So if you turn it to MAX A/C the ICE should stay on...

That is what I thought..... Even in those settings (which on my dash are orange to let you know) the A/C Will not keep the engine running.

Turn off the ECON button on the bottom center of the panel.

Ive made sure that the Econ button is not on. It still behaves the same.
