Navigator "Nag" message
Hi, I have a 2008 FEH with the Navigation option. Everytime I start the engine, I have to confirm that I agree that some of the Nav features are not available when vehicle is in motion. Is there a way to disable this
"Nag" screen? Thanks |
Re: Navigator "Nag" message
On the '07 (and earlier?), we only get that "nag" screen when we start the actual navigation function (press the "Nav" button).

Re: Navigator "Nag" message
If I have my 08 on the MAP Screen when I shut down, I do get the nag screen each start up. If I have it on something else like the Media, I only get it every once in a while.

Re: Navigator "Nag" message
The short answer is NO. Federal regulations, legal mumbo jumbo, blah blah blah. Same deal with watching a DVD....you get the FBI warning every time.
The long answer is....if you are a super talented hacker maybe you can find a way to override it. |

Re: Navigator "Nag" message
My girlfriend just told me a similar story last night, without the train part.
She flew back east for a class reunion, and got a rental car. She had the address of a friend's house, but had never been there. She used a portable GPS to get driving directions. It was midnight, and it was in the country. It involved dirt roads. It took her down a dead-end, in farm country, at 2 in the morning. Dark, no lights, no moon. Dense trees from what I was told. Luckily, she had the forethought to enter the school's address at that point, and had it route her back to the school in town. She then called her friend on the phone in the middle of the night for verbal directions. What should have taken her an hour took her more than 4 hours, and lots of anxiety and frustration. |
