Please explain the heat/ac controls to me...

I still not sure I understand the heat/ac controls on my 09' FEH. I thought I got it until I had to use the AC the other day...not sure I'm to fond of them for heat or AC....
I just read the thread on the econ button...and still don't get it...
Does it even come into play if the AC isn't on?

The temp control is trying to get the car to that set temp correct? Does it override that if I can't stand it blasting on high fan at first (so annoying)and I turn the fan speed down?

Re: Please explain the heat/ac controls to me...

I'n not sure I fully see or feel the difference in my 09 yet. At the end of the upcoming summer, maybe I'll be able to answer differently.

Here are the relevant words directly from the manual:

In ECON mode, when the gasoline engine is running, A/C operates as normal. To prioritize cooling comfort over fuel economy, deactivate ECON. ECON can not be selected in (defrost) or (floor/defrost).
One thing to read into this is the opposite of what the second statement says, To prioritize fuel economy over cooling comfort, activate ECON.

FYI, electronic copies of the owner manuals available here: http://www.genuineservice.com/genuin...loveboxresults

As far as I know, econ mode only applies to the AC, not the heat.

I believe adjusting the fan does override the automatic temperature controls.
