Same Car, Different Oil

isn't it the same Escape Hybrid sold in US and Canada? also my car is a US car (I bought it from US but I live in Canada).

Anyway the manual says in US the engine oil used should be

"Motorcraft SAE 5W20 Premium Synthetic Blend Motor Oil",

but in Canada the oil used should be

"Motorcraft SAE 5W20 Super Premium Motor Oil".

Most Canadians live in the belt area near US boarder, why Ford recommand different oil for the same car? Why Ford does not recommand synthetical oil to Canadian FE??
:embarass:

Mobil 1 Synthetic 5w-20. :) Some of us use Mobil 1 0w-20. Avoid the synthetic blend oil which costs as much as synthetic but has more frequently change recommendations. Go to Walmart or similar and purchase Mobil 1.

The synthetic flows better at colder temperatures, last longer and may improve mileage. Why use anything else.

Thank you very much Billyk. I went to Walmart yesterday and found Mobil 1 5W20 synthetic, 4.4L (in manual only needs 4.25L). The problem for me now is I only have experience change engine oil for Toyota Echo, there are a drain screw and engine oil filter cap need to be changed. I have no idea how to only change the cartrige like Ford Escape Hybrid 2008....I did not find any pictures or repair manual in the sticky threads here too. I am not sure how should I locate where the oil filter and drainning screw are, how to control the tightenning torque of those two, too. :omg:

You can obtain the oil filter "wrench" at an autoparts store such as Autozone. I think this cost me $4.28 last year. You will need a socket (square) to remove it and then to tighten the new one on. Make sure you put the new rubber gasket on the filter cartilage prior to installation. The drain plug is not too far from the oil filter. Everything can be seen at the front end of the engine compartment if you are looking upward.

Thanks again, I will see what there then try to change later. Last tank I got real 7.1 L/100km, really good, better than Toyota Echo.
