I do have a pump on the way since it has 80k miles. Is the pump function checked by the electronics coolant temp? If so I would think it would've restarted when it cooled off. |
Re: Vehicle won't turn over
I tend to agree, I do know though that the pump wasn't running with the key in run position, but perhaps that's controlled but the same circuit that's causing it not to start.
It is the original and I wanted to do this for the last year or so. |
Re: Vehicle won't turn over
Hello again, and good news.
Bad 12 Volt Battery! even though it read 12 volts I guess the current draw pulled it down when in the start position! Getting the new pump put in by the garage that got it going so it should be back on the road this PM. I guess I for got the old KISS trouble shooting mantra. Nods to Econoline for the first correct answer!! Thanks again eveyone for sharing your collective wisdom. This is a great relief to me and the kids. |
Re: Vehicle won't turn over
This was helpful. Thank you all.
I have this same issue with a 2008 Ford Escape Hybrid. Once before it was a bad chip in the key and it showed the secrity system "attempted theft" code. Reset it with a code reader and used a newer key and it worked for months. Now I am getting these codes as well, not turning over at all. Codes: P1A10 P1000 P0AC0-20 P1A10 – Hybrid Powertrain Control Module Battery disabled P1000 – Onboard Diagnostics II Monitor / Drive Cycle Test Not Complete P1000 FF - Hybrid Battery These also appeared: B1318 and B1317 C1524 and C1325 but I do not think those are the issue... This car is off on a remote island with no high tech mechanics around, so I need to diagnose it and take the parts over with a strategy. So far I am seeing the the MECS Pump is a good candidate. Is the 12v battery a usual suspect? -Phil |
Re: Vehicle won't turn over
Always start with the 12V. Some of those errors are odd. Recommend Forscan app.

Re: Vehicle won't turn over
Have your low-tech mechanic change out the battery with a known good battery. You might get lucky. Do load the Forscan app and get the proper OBD2 ELM327 transmitter
