I couldn't find any after market HEPA filter for my Yukon. Have any one tried to fabricate one. should it be placed in the outside or under the dash?

Well if you really want to install one on the Chev equinox it is placed on the inside above the front passengers seat in the air duct. Not sure about the air duct structure in the Tahoe hybrid, but putting it on the inside may make it easier to install and change. Maybe look at the Air Filter for the equinox and see if you can get it to fit somewhere, at least you would have the filter and bracket.:lightbulb

I was just cleaning the carpet in the Yukon and found more smoke suds "from the road" around the battery than i did in the front. Is the hybrid battery vented to the outside?

Yes the cooling fan inside the battery pack pulls inside air and vents it to the outside. If you ever pull the access panels up over the pack, you would see it on the driver side. But I wouldn't recommend doing it, because those interior trim clips are fragile and there are quite a few of them. You're almost certain to break one of them, and then you might end up with an annoying rattle.
