Buying Advice - Please Help - Used 2009 Denali Hybrid 105k miles

Hi Guys,
thank you in advance for your help.
I have the opportunity to purchase my brother in law's Yukon Denali with 105,000 (dealer serviced) Denali Hybrid for $16,800. The car is in (generally) good condition (two small kids will wreak some havoc on it), almost all options (Navi, DVD system, 20" rims, etc).
Small oil leak seems to be the biggest self-reported problem.
Is there anything else that I should be worried about with this vintage car? When I read reviews or messages on this forum, is it safe to assume that the Yukon and Tahoe Hybrid are very close cousins and their pluses and minuses should be considered when evaluating this Denali?

I realize this is a hard question to answer, but would you take the car to the dealership or independent to look it over? Are independents very familiar with hybrids?

Lastly, I don't think that it has had the 100,000 mile maintenance performed. Is that a major one? Does anyone have the maintenance schedule they can send me?

Thanks so much in advance,
Brad

100k mile maintenance only involve fluids. Tranny, engine oil, brake, radiator, differentials and transfer case for 4wd. Timing chain is lifetime and doesn't need changing.

Better to bring it to the dealer. Only they can diagnose and fix a hybrid unless hillbilly opened his own independent shop;)

OK, just got the dealer report back. I need to make a decision soon, and was hoping you could give me your thoughts:

1. CODES B0423-04 B0413-014 AND B0228-05 RECIRC FEEDBACK CIRCUIT OPEN. NEEDS RECIRC DOOR ACTUATOR $466 PLUS TAX
| 2. DRIVERS DOOR SIDEVIEW MIRROR FAULTY $669 PLUS TAX (the extend/retract motor is broken, and he says that it is built into the mirror and the whole mirror needs to be replaced)
| 3. FRONT STRUTS LEAKING $1261 PLUS TAX REAR STRUTS LEAKING $1234 TAX
| 4. TIRES MARGINAL $1166 PLUS TAX ALIGNMENT AFTER STRUTS AND TIRES $90
| 5. TRANS SEAL LEAKING $180 PLUS TAX
| 6. ENGINE OIL FILTER LEAKING OIL CHANGE WILL REMEDY $59.95
| 7. DVD SYSTEM EJECTING AND WORKING AS DESIGNED
| 8. HYBRID BATTERY 1-20 READ 16.2-16.4 VOLTS OKAY
| 9. HYBRID BATTERY PACK CAL 325 VOLTS OKAY

MAINTENANCE ITEMS:
| 10. TRANS FLUID AND FILTER EVERY 50K $189 PLUS TAX
| 11. FUEL SYSTEM SERVICE EVERY 30K $139 PLUS TAX
| 12. BRAKE FLUID SERVICE REPLACE EVERY 2 YEARS $130 PLUS TAX
| 13. REAR DIFFERENTIAL SERVICE $189 PLUS TAC

Maybe leaky struts are normal for 105k miles and isn't a big deal?
Any other thoughts?
Thanks,
Brad

The shock absorbers being worn at 100k is not too bad. 80k to 120k is about the normal range.

Since you got voltage readings on the span of the 20 measurement points and the differential was 0.2V that's fantastic.

Depending on how much it "swims" down the road and the tread left on tires, you may put that off.

Fuel system service for me is a bottle of Chevron Tecron and a half tank of gas to mix it in. The others you are stuck with if you can't do them.

Can you combine trans seal and oil change?

My hybrid front shocks lasted only 80k miles and @ 195k miles when I traded it in, I replaced it twice. The rear shocks were more durable. However had to replace the air ride compressor at 188k miles. The rest of the expenses are maintenance items.
