Engine Oil

Engine Oil
I have an 08 Yukon Hybrid and i have been using regular engine oil for changes with no problems.
My Buddy has an 09 Escalade Hybrid, with the same engine and has been using Mobil 1 synthetic oil.
Yukon manual says regular oil and Esky manual says synthetic yet same engine.
What gives?

Re: Engine Oil
Thanks. My Yukon has 205,000 km on it. Should I switch to synthetic or high mileage oil?
Maybe continue with regular oil?
My engine does burn a fair amount of oil between changes.
All advice appreciated.

Re: Engine Oil
I was having problems recently holding engine oil pressure on my 08 Tahoe with 120k miles. It was low in oil. Dealer topped it off while I was there doing another tyoe of maintenance. 10 miles later oil pressure dropped off again (warning light and stop engine message came up), even with oil level correct. Oil was 9k miles old. Took it to the fast oil change place and got High Mileage oil. No problems since then.

Re: Engine Oil
I had the same thing happen to me as well. It happened a few times with no oil pressure before the code was captured. It ended up being the oil pump screen was plugged and was restricting the oil there fore no oil pressure.
