Optima Battery
Trouble-free for almost 90k miles. Today the 12v went dead (shorted cell). Jumped it and drove it home.
I decided, since the 12v goes dead quickly if you forget to leave the engine on whilst listening to the radio, I would replace it with a deep-cycle AGM. I picked up the Optima Yellow-Top at The Auto Parts Store Formerly Known as Kragen. It came with all the adapters needed to fit most vehicles. I dropped it in, bolted it down and stretched the battery cables to reach (not hard to do). Works great and gives me great confidence it will last a lot longer with my regular abuse. Otherwise, this truck is perfect. I still can't find a vehicle as smooth to drive, except for my Chevy Volt! |
Re: Optima Battery
I have 62,000 on my 2011 Silverado and I could not agree more. Very smooth and reliable to date (although I did have to replace the Throttle Body).
I just leased a 2013 Volt yesterday and think it is about the only think smoother on the road. Handles and parks much better too. |
