Switching Modes

When switching from V4 to V8 or Hybrid mode I cannot notice it only on the Nav display and if i have my window down from the volant exhaust I can hear the V4 to V8 change. Also I can hear when we transition from EV mode to ICE. The Team at GM has done an excellent job in how smooth the engine and transmission are. FIRST CLASS:D:sun::sun:. Thank You:shade:

Re: Switching Modes

Ken,

from full stop, if you smash the go pedal....is there any weird transition?
Like it was hanging to make a gear change, and then it does....!?

On the family we run 5 hybrids 2009 4x4 (2 Tahoes and 3 Silverados) and all make the same thing since the were little kids, but a few weeks ago we bought a 2010 Tahoe 4x4 and....zilch...nothing!!!! form dead stop, you hit the gas pedal and just accelerates and never feel a single gear change or weird transition, or warever.... pretty smooth.

Was told is a new Firmware, but not yet have a confirmation....do you know anything about it?

Also was told I can Upgrade the 2009 firmware, also not confirm.

Re: Switching Modes

oh yeah, we all have noticed this phenomenon. if you go 3/4 throttle, it is much less pronounced and the tahoe runs like a scalded-dog. i would love to get 2010 firmware, but is it compatible?

Re: Switching Modes

I wish some hybrid gm tech could confirm if the firmwares are upgradeable and compatible. For the difference on the 2009 and 2010 hoe, I can only notice the foot brake pedal. It has no lever to release in the new one, push apply, push release.

Hi Gabe,
I have not noticed this in my 2009 Tahoe Hybrid even when I hit the pedal the transition is smooth, no lag.:shade:

Ken,

From a dead stop, full throttle until u reach 60mph it has no hesitation so to speak?

Is your Hybrid an "Only for Export" product?

Hi Gabe,
No hesitation fron a dead stop to 60mph. it just excellerates and smoothly changes gears. I am in Canada so not sure if that is considered an export.:shade:

2010s look similar but have some differences under the skin. For one thing, the engine code changed. For 08-09 it's LFA. For 2010, it's LZ1. Baro sensor is on the airbox now.

Door panels have narrower sills. Not really a fan, because it's too easy to hit the power lock button and inadvertently lock yourself out (guess how I found this one out...:)).

Re: Switching Modes

Hey KC,
Thanks for your feedback.
I do have a 2010 Tahoe, haven't locked myself out yet :)
What does the Baro sensor do exactly, and what do you mean by airbox?

any other hidden features added in 2010 other than the Bluetooth and USB?
is the MPG higjher in the 2010 compred to 08/09? 22city/22 highway? although I am hardly getting above 18 MPG in city dirving!!!

Thanks
