U Haul web site says 2200 for trailer. So either way you are close. You still need at least 10% tongue weight. Or it will "swim" down the road.

Curb weight 6,120 lbs. GVWR 7,500 lbs.

Id figure you at 6500lbs Esky Hybrid + 2200lbs trailer(A car dolly probably would of been better) + 4100lbs Benz wagon = Over 12,000lbs

Unsure on vehicle license registration in your state but they most certainly go by weight ratings for your plates. I run 14,000 on my Silverado and the normal rated plate for the hybrid(8,500lb, 10,000lb ???). Another reason for them to pull you over is not something I want to do if I can help it.

Your sales guy had to have been showing you regular Eskys with 6.2 403hp compared to the 6.0 Hybrid at 332hp to be getting those numbers.
I can also tell you that the 3.08 gears are going to be hell getting up to speed with that much weight. Do the hybrids have tranny/oil coolers? Never looked on mine, but I figure they don't because they don't have the tow haul button.

Look at the sticker in your door jamb. It will give you your GVWR (the total weight of the truck allowed including the occupants, fuel, everything else inside and the tongue weight of the trailer. You will need to be below that number. In addition to that, you will have a RAWR which is the maximum total weight allowed on the rear axle.

The other important rating is the GCWR which is the total weight of the truck, everything in the truck and the weight of the trailer with everything in it. That is the total weight GM has designed the truck to pull and, most importantly, be able to stop.

I have a F350 diesel dually for most trailer pulls and a Freightliner class 7 truck for my 5th wheel trailer. Even my little Tacoma has a higher tow rating than your Escalade due to it's rear axle ratio and braking ability. All of them are also setup for trailers with brake controllers and either class 4 or 5 hitches, goosenecks or 5th wheels.

Can you tow over the limit? Yes. Should you? NO.

I see WAY to many people on the road towing overloaded and they do get to their destination (well, most of them...) but crap happens and when you are pushing the limit of your tow vehicles, things can happen fast and most of them are not good.

 

I want to make sure the vehicle is within specs hence I went to my trusted dealer awhile back and here it is:

FYI the 2009 escalade hybrid has the 3.42 final drive not 3.08 of the 2010.

The vortec 6.0L V8 SFI has a maximum trailer rating of 8300 lbs(6C10706) and 8100lbs(6K10706). The lower rating is for the 4WD version.

Surprisingly the L94 vortec 6.2 L V8 SFI has the same rating of 8300 lbs and 8100 lbs. The 6.2 has the same axle ratio as my hybrid of 3.42.

 

I got it from my dealer and it is a small cadillac booklet of tow ratings, specs etc. it is not the owners manual. Page 24 and 25.

 

Budget has a car transporter that weighs 1500 lbs. I may have to go that route? I know uhaul have the newer car transporter which is galvanized in color and should have a lighter weight than the advertised 2000 lbs.

 

Pic of said weights and measures document. I guess for warranty issues they limited the hybrid to 5800 lbs? Not anymore evidently.
