I for one test drove the Prius (2009 model) to compare it to my old Civic Hybrid and the new Honda Insight.

Hands down the Insight and the Civic won due to responsiviness. The Prius took way too long for it to accelerate with the same light foot of the Civic or Insight.

As of yesterday my walet did the talking and I went with Honda's new Insight.

Since I already owned the Civic Hybrid, I felt it was only natural to gravitate to the Insight, also I wanted and liked the hatchback!

 

Good to know that I'm not the only one thinking Toyota might become the next GM. Too many models, outdated styling and tech, increasingly lax quality control.

 

I didn't believe it, but it sounds like there is more than a grain of truth to it for 2009.

 

It would make sense that Honda stopped making 2009 civic(s) in general only because they are starting to make 2010 models
