I had this same problem with it coming off the track and it was fixed under warranty. I believe this is a known issue (reported in this site). I live in the USA, but all the HCHII come from Japan -- I they are all the same.

@ Doberwiler Did your's start going off track after a jump start too? I wonder why the UK dealer hadn't fixed it then.Because it would have been checked when the service was done....anyway i don't have the warranty so its gonna be a out of pocket cost to me.I called the Honda dealer here and xplained him the issue and he said they most likely will have to replace the whole thing..... i didn't even ask how much thats gonna cost.Come on there should be some sort of a way....??

Important: Right away, bump your cold tire pressures to 42 PSI. Make sure the tires were not swapped for a non-LRR (Low Roll Resistance) type. Make sure your oil is 0W-20 and nothing else.
Then follow Kevin's links to make sure your driving techniques are up-to-par.
We'll be waiting for a report back – good luck and congrats!

News update!!!
bumped my tyres up to 40Psi .learned how to run in only electric mode between 20-35kmph and it is nice.one thing I noticed though is after running for about a minute like that the SOC drobs below 4 bars.I guess it's using up the battery quite a bit.yet no improvement in mpg .it's still hovering around 30-32mpg. I' so frustrated... I wonder if there is anything wrong with the petrol engine itself???

Mhiggi02, there ought to be a clear designation for LRR tires, but I've never heard of one. You just have to do some online research to determine whether yours are LRR.
Lancelot, what brand/type/size tires are you using? Also, are you using your A/C in "Auto" mode exclusively? The wrong weight motor oil can make 5+ MPG difference, BTW.
