New to me 2006 Civic Hybrid
I recently purchased a 2006 Civic Hybrid w/ about 170,000 km on it. And since this is my first Hybrid I have a few questions.
1. When I drive on the Highway doing 100 km/h (62 mph) my Fuel Economy stays right around the 6 L/100 km range - Is this normal? 2 Same as the last question, but my Tach stays around 2000 - 2500 rpm - Is this normal? 3. Is there any way to test the IMA system to see if it is going to fail, or if it is dying? The reason for this is I just got 6.31 L/100 km (37.3 mpg) on my last tank and I think I should be getting better than that. 4. What is the tank size for the Canadian model? I found somewhere that said that it was 46.6 L, but last night I was driving home and I ran out of bars on the fuel meter. And when I filled up I only put 39 L, so where is the extra tank capacity? I drive a mix of Highway and City in Southern Alberta (hills). Sorry if some of these questions are Noob questions, but thanks in advance for all of your answers. |
Re: New to me 2006 Civic Hybrid
Everything sounds about bang on, I average 5.4 ltr per 100 but have noticed as it has aged it is creeping up to the #'s you are getting. Same RPM and I very seldom get 40 ltrs. in the tank. My car has 112,000 kilometers on it. I do not expect the pack to last many more years, Honda's pack has been a week point other-wise I really like the car.H
