Well not EVERYWHERE... be sure to avoid electronic components and such. There are a few sites out there that explain how to hose off you engine. I haven't yet tried it with my HCH though.

I've used a pressure washer on engines before... nice results asthetically... but I've also had sensor issues immediately following a wash. Could have been a coincidence, but I had a throttle position sensor die on me the next day after an extensive under-hood wash on an SUV.

Now, when I use the pressure washer, I fan it out (low pressure) and avoid all electrical connectors.
